If you’ve started looking into orthodontic treatment, you’ve probably noticed that what’s included in the overall cost can vary quite a bit from one practice to another. One area where this really shows up is retainers.

At Ewell Orthodontics, your retainers are part of your treatment – included in the price you’re quoted at your consultation.

Retainers are part of the journey, not an afterthought

Once your braces come off, your teeth need time to settle and stabilise. The bone and tissue around them are adapting to their new positions, and without retainers holding everything in place, your teeth will move. It happens to everyone, and it can happen surprisingly quickly.

We’ve seen patients who’ve had beautiful results from treatment elsewhere, only to find their teeth shifting back because retainers weren’t part of the plan or they didn’t realise how important they were.

That’s why retainers are built into every treatment we offer. Getting your teeth straight is one thing – keeping them that way is just as important.

What’s included in your treatment

Most of our treatment packages include both fixed and removable retainers to give you the best long-term stability. Our Essentials package for under 18s includes removable retainers.

Whichever package you choose, you’ll have 12 months of aftercare included, so we can keep an eye on how everything’s settling and make sure you’re confident with the routine.

And if you’re an adult patient, complimentary professional whitening is included too – a little extra sparkle for your smile.

We want you to know exactly what you’re paying for before treatment starts. No surprises, no additional costs appearing later.

Twelve months might sound like a long time, but it goes quickly – and it’s an important period.

It’s when you’re getting used to life after braces and building the habit of wearing your retainers. Your aftercare appointment gives us a chance to check that everything’s settling as it should and answer any questions that come up.

Ongoing support with Retainer Club

After your first year of aftercare, you can join our Retainer Club for a small monthly fee. It’s designed to give you ongoing peace of mind and make long-term retainer care straightforward and budget-friendly.

As a member, you’ll get an annual check-up included, so we can make sure everything’s fitting well and your smile is staying on track. If your fixed retainer needs a repair, that’s covered too – completely free for in-house fixes.

You’ll also save 50% on replacement removable retainers if yours gets lost or worn out, and 50% off retainer cases, cleaning tablets and other essentials.
